7 weeks and 1 day

It’s been a while since we posted and we’ve had some gentle reminders from the ever eager new friends of Liam.  David is back to work and so his computer time is almost completely dedicated to work related endeavors.  He continues to be a great dad.  As I write this father and son are cuddled up in bed together.  They take walks together, they bounce on the ball till David’s arms feel like they’ll fall off, who knows what else they do together because I’m usually off at this point, brushing my teeth, or doing some other mundane task which now feels like a piece of heaven.  Not that holding Liam isn’t heavenly, it is.  But all those hours of Liam time leave my mind mostly free to be filled with desires of tasks to be completed and when I have a spare moment to actually get something done, it’s quite satisfying – like a good sneeze.  We have a lot to be grateful for and I guess I should add that I really relish washing dishes.  Taking such joy in doing chores may not be a permanent condition so I’d better enjoy it while it lasts. 🙂

But back to Liam…  He’s had the pleasure of meeting his grandma Elizabeth (Faye’s mom) and his grandpa Dean (David’s dad) since our last post as well as a whole host of new friends.  He’s been back to see Dr. Minger for his regular check up.  He’s had some bodywork.  He’s joined us while we run errands, been blackberry picking, taken neighborhood walks, and been out for a couple very tasty meals.  Generally speaking, Liam is remarkably accommodating of the family’s schedule.  We are a lucky bunch.

We have fun watching our little cutie smile (though it is remarkably difficult to catch these on camera for your viewing pleasure).  He seems to have the Helbig right-cheek-only dimple but then again every once in a while I think I see a dimple on his other cheek.  It’s a joy to see the faces of so many loved ones reflected in Liam’s various expressions!

Liam loves taking a bath with daddy, especially enjoying the sensation of water jets on his bum! It seems like every day he outgrows another of his cute outfits. And he’s “learned” a new trick, perching on daddy’s hand. He’s starting to see the merits of having his diaper changed, enjoying those sessions now instead of turning his face beet-red.  And lastly, but most appreciated by his mom and dad, he continues to be a good sleeper!

That’s all for now; enjoy the pictures. 🙂

Love, Faye
